When we lived in Florida we picked up this recipe; growing up in California I had no idea Florida was considered the south.
3 c. sweet potatoes
2 eggs beaten
1/2 c evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 stick melted margarine
combine above & mix w/ electric mixer. spread into 13×9 pan
1 c brown sugar
1 c chopped pecans
1/2 c flour
1/2 c soft margarine
combine & layer on top
bake @ 350 for 5 min
bake @ 300 for 45 min
